Please Meet Gilad Shalit
This past June 26 the family of Gilad Shalit marked his third year (he turned 23), while he is being held in Hamas captivity. The parents of Eldad Regev HY”D and Ehud Goldwasser HY”D, whose bodies were released by Hizbullah in a “prisoner” exchange deal last year, spent the day with the Shalit family. Israel released live prisoners, but Hamas returned caskets.
This young man graduated with distinction from Manor Kabri High School. Gilad began military service in the Israel Defense Forces in July 2005, and “despite a low medical profile, he preferred to serve in a combat unit, following his elder brother Yoel into the armored corps.
Gilad was captured early on Sunday morning, 25 June 2006, by Palestinians who attacked an Israeli army post on the Israeli side of the southern Gaza Strip border after having crossed through an underground tunnel near the Kerem Shalom border crossing. Gilad had an injury to his left shoulder, and hand from an RPG that hit his personnel carrier. He was 19 at the time.
Here we are some 1113 days later and Hamas still has Gilad. Stop and think for a moment what he has lived through in the last one thousand, one hundred and thirteen days…
President Obama has no regard for Israel, much less Gilad. He does not care about the daily challenges that Israelis face. He does not care about the military assistance the IAF has given our own military. Not to mention all the technology our military get from Israel.
President Obama is so wrapped up in making friends with proven enemies he is willing to sacrifice one of the longest, and best friends the US has. This proves one true fact about politicians, they are all ego maniacs.
Politicians love the spotlight, and only run for office out of purely selfish reasons. They do not do it to humbly serve the people who elect them, they do it to further their own goals. They push their own agendas, and then at election time lie in our faces about their motives.
We hear about inpropriaties and write it off. He forgot to pay his taxes. He did not know he was getting a break on his loan. He cheated on his wife, but he will be honest in serving our country. And so it goes.
The big problem this time is that our newest President is causing devastation that will reach beyond our generation to my grandchildren. At the very least. For what? So he can do as he wants because it is what he wants? If you dare challenge him on anything he has said multiple times, “I won the election, I’m the President”.
To ensure his agenda (Cause believe me he has one), he circumvents the Constituion. Hiring czars who answer only to him. Each one earns over $100,00.00 per year. So much for “tightening our belts”.
We are headed toward a cliff with the current President, House and Senate driving. We need to hit the emegency brake and stop the bus from going over the cliff!
